The Conservatives nationally will:
• Choke off the recovery by cutting support for the economy too soon
• Threaten support that is helping people back into work
• Give a £200,000 inheritance tax cut to 3,000 millionaires
• Abolish investment allowances worth billions to British business
• Take tax credits away from families on middle and modest incomes and scrap Child Trust Funds for
families earning just over £16,000. They also want a 'two-tier' Sure Start programme.
Labour on Economic Recovery.
to find out about the Labour Party's record on tacking economic recovery & policies on economic issues.
When it comes to crime, David Cameron is more concerned with headlines than policies. That’s why he talks Britain down by deliberately misleading the public about crime figures even though his party has been censured by the Statistics Authority for doing this.
The Conservatives have voted against Labour’s measures to fight crime including opposing changes to the retention of DNA evidence – making it harder for the police to catch criminals. And they have campaigned against the use of CCTV which reduces the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour.
The Tories’ refusal to reveal their own plans should not go unchallenged. Nor should their election candidates be able to continually mislead the public with dodgy crime statistics.
People need to take a long hard look at the Tories’ policies on crime and particularly the fact that they would make it harder for the police to use DNA which helps catch some of the most dangerous criminals.
